The New England Patriots matched their best victory streak since the Tom Brady era as they beat AFC East opponents the Jets 27-14 in professional football

First-year standout Henderson led the way with three TDs as the New England squad secured an eighth straight win for the initial occasion since star signal-caller Tom Brady's last year with the team in 2019

QB Drake Maye threw for 281 passing yards and a TD, connecting on 25 out of 34 attempts

The win bolsters the New England's advantage at the top of the division as they advanced to nine wins and two defeats, with the Jets at the foot after falling to two victories and eight defeats

The visitors had scored first at their home field with quarterback Justin Fields rushing for a short rushing score to cap the Jets' initial series

But the Patriots fought back in the second period as Henderson rushed for two seven-yard TDs before the ball carrier caught a pass from Drake Maye at the rear of the endzone midway through the third quarter to make it 21-7

"That was a key occasion for him delivering, and it's been great for him to keep getting these reps," Maye commented on Henderson. "He aims to be outstanding."

Fields found Metchie late in the third quarter to close the gap for the visitors but Andy Borregales booted a two kicks in the fourth quarter as the Patriots closed out the victory
